How to use the Library: LRC Helpdesk

Our professional team of staff offer a wide range of services to all QMU students, staff and visitors. From help with joining and borrowing; enquiry service, interlibrary loans and photocopying as well as subject support from Liaison Librarians.

What We Do

The LRC Helpdesk is your first point of call for all Library, IT and Maintenance related queries. Our friendly, helpful staff are trained to help with Library queries including borrowing, accessing print and electronic resources and help with printing, copying and scanning.

We also provide a variety of IT support on connecting to our network, using the Remote Desktop, password issues, accessing your emails and helping with Microsoft Office queries. If we can not help we will escalate your problem to one of our colleagues in the Information Services Team.


Similarly we can assist with any maintenance issues you wish to report regarding the academic building, out buildings and surrounding QMU grounds.

Library Sales

The LRC sells a variety of items including CDs and other storage media, reading aids and poly pockets.  Students can pay for these using their Smart card.

Staff wishing to purchase items from the LRC Service Desk should email with the information below.  We will email you back to tell you how much your purchase will cost and when it is available for collection.
