Induction: Study Spaces

Library Guide for New Students

Study Spaces

The LRC has a range of study spaces designed to suit the different ways you may wish to work.

Open Access

This is the main space as you enter the library. There are computer terminals, empty desks with space for your own devices, and you can also borrow laptops from the Helpdesk.

Group Study Rooms

All students can use these group study spaces. They can be booked up to two weeks in advance using the online booking form.

Study Carrels

These small individual rooms have a desk, lamp and plug socket. They can be booked up to two weeks in advance using the online booking form and you're welcome to use any that aren't pre-booked whenever you like.

Quiet Study Rooms

Quiet study rooms are for silent individual study. There are computer terminals and empty workspaces with plug sockets.

Students wanting to talk, or discuss work as a group should use group study rooms or the open access area.

Postgraduate Study Room (1123A)

The postgraduate study room can be used by taught and research postgraduates.
