How to get the most out of Resource Lists

Getting started with resource lists

There are various of materials on reading lists. Here is an introduction to some of the main ones.

Print books

When you click on a title of a book, the display expands to show location and availability details. Click on the availability to see the call number to tell you where the book is in the library.

 

 

 

 

Ebooks

When a book is available through the library as an ebook, it will give you the option to click 'view online' on the right hand side.

 

 

 

 

Note: Some books are available through the library in both print and as ebooks. If you want to find out if an ebook is also available in print, click on the title of a book, the display expands to show location and availability details. Click on the availability to see the call number to tell you where the book is in the library.

Navigating Resource Lists

You can use the Table of Contents to navigate lists more easily. Open the drop down menu and click on a title to jump to a specific section.

Accessing Resources

Resource lists contain details of books, book chapters, scanned extracts, videos, websites, and other materials your lecturer would like you to look at. Below is some information about the most common ones: 

Print resources 

When you click on the title of a print resource, you will be shown details about the title and where it is available through the library. If you click on the links showing availability, you will be taken to information about the title on the library website.

 

Online resources 

You can access many resources online, including ebooks, journal articles, websites, videos and scanned extracts of key texts. Click 'VIEW ONLINE' to access these. If you aren't already logged in with your QMU username and password, you may be asked to do this before you can view the full text.
