Regular study skills workshops on a wide range of topics will be run throughout the academic year. The workshops below are small, informal, and aimed at undergraduate students, although postgraduates can join too if there is space available. These workshops are delivered on Microsoft Teams.
The Effective Learning Service (ELS) offers guidance and support to students who wish to develop their academic writing and study skills. Our aim is to help you become as self-reliant as possible as you progress through your degree programmes here at QMU.
In an online appointment we communicate guidance and advice on your assignments via e-mail or Teams.

If you need help finding resources for your coursework or are struggling with referencing then there will be a workshop to suit you – just check the event listings.

QMU has partnered with Studiosity, an external online service accessed via Canvas, to provide 24/7 constructive feedback on key elements of academic writing to all undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) provides accessible format academic books through its RNIB Bookshare Education Collection to all print disabled students.
Accessible formats include: Daisy audio (with or without images), MP3, Braille (BRF), Epub, PDF and Word (Docx).
QMU students with a print disability (this includes distance learners and students enrolled on online programmes) and QMU staff with a print disability who need access for work-related reasons may use this service.
