Online Learning at QMU: Ebooks

This guide is designed to support students on QMU programmes who study entirely or mainly online. It provides information about how to access library resources online, and other important information relating to the library and study skills.

Anyone with a QMU username and password is able to access all of the ebooks available through QMU Library. This page contains information about how to find and access ebooks.

How to find ebooks in QMU Discover

To find ebooks in QMU Discover:

1. Go to QMU Discover (or find a QMU Discover search box on the library website, embedded in a subject guide, or on Canvas)

2. Use keywords, author or title details to search for the book(s) you are looking for

3. Use the All Filters button below the search box to narrow the Source Type to ebooks (see pictures below)

How to find ebooks in the library catalogue

To find ebooks in the library catalogue (an older system, which only contains information about print and ebooks at QMU):

1. Go to the QMU Library catalogue

2. Use keywords, author or title details to search for the book(s) you are interested in 

3. Use the Modify Search button to narrow down the Material Type to ebooks (see pictures below):

 

Video: Ebook Central accessibility features

Most accessibility features on ebook platforms are available by default. However, you may sometimes need to change the settings to make ebooks compatible with screen readers. The video below shows how you can turn on accessibility features on the ProQuest Ebook Central Platform using a screenreader.
