Online and Distance Learning at QMU: Resource lists

This guide is designed to support students on QMU programmes who study entirely or mainly online, including students on international collaborations programmes. It provides information about how to access library resources online, and other important info

All QMU Online programmes and some QMU collaboration and partnership programmes use Talis Resource Lists to provide you with guidance for core and further reading. If your programme uses Canvas, these will be visible when you click Reading List in the left hand menu and sometimes within each section of the Canvas module:

If Canvas is not used on programme

Your programme or module leader will provide you with a link to the relevant Talis Resource List if there is one. You can search for them on the Talis website by module code or title. You do not need to log in to view the lists, but if you do log in you can make use of the dashboard and other tools to manage your reading.

  • Use the table of contents above to jump to relevant sections
  • You can filter by type, for example to view only ebooks
  • The citation style button allows you to change the format of the items below into properly formatted references in case you need them (do check they're in line with Harvard Cite Them Right 12th edition or APA 7th formatting yourself though)
  • Use the circles to the right of each item to set your reading intentions and then use the filter to view these by category (will read, reading now, have read etc.)
  • Use the three dots to the right of each item to bookmark items, add personal notes or report broken links
