On the 30th June 2017 the British Library will be closing down the existing service for delivery of electronic items, for example journal articles, requested as ILLs. Currently they are supplied as TIF images to the Library and then forwarded on to the requestor's QMU email address. This system will be replaced on 1st July by British Library On Demand. This change is to enable the British Library to enable digital rights management on the electronic documents they supply. As a result, requestors will need to open an account with BL On Demand. This can be done on receipt of the first document requested under the new service.
All ILL requests will continue to be made in the usual way, it is just the delivery method of electronic items which is changing.
The process is quick and simple and you only need to do it once.
You should place your ILL for a journal article or book chapter via the Library website in the usual manner.
When the QMU Library has received the email from BLOD containing the link to your document it will forward this to your QMU email address.
