Film & Media: Books

Books are one of the key types of resource you should be looking at for assignments and learning. We have thousands of physical books in the Library, but possibly even more online. To find them, you can search Discover (the Library's tool full of books and lots of the journal article content we have) and then filter to select that you want the Source Type of books and/or ebooks:

When the book is a physical book the record will tell you where you can find the book (by shelf mark, e.g. 822.33 SHA) and if it's an ebook there will be a link to the full text of the book. You might need to log in to the ebook platform with your QMU username and password.

Accessing ebooks

The best place to find ebooks is the library catalogue. From there, click the title of an ebook to view the catalogue record for it, then click 'Connect to Ebook' underneath the title and publication information.

If you are on campus or connected via remote access clicking on an article link should take you to the full text of an ebook.

If you are not on campus or using remote access please click on the link then look for an option to login via Shibboleth or via your institution.

Different ebook platforms will have different login pages with different appearances, but you are always looking for Shibboleth or institution login.
